High performance, long aperture macro medium telephoto lens incorporating Sigma optical stabilization functions.
The Sigma macro lens incorporates optical stabilization that allows you to use a shutter speed of about 4 stops slower than it could be. The SLD glass provides good control of aberrations, and the internal floating focusing system ensures great rendering throughout the entire focus range. By using Sigma APO adapters, it is possible to take photos at a magnification ratio greater than 1: 1. HSM ensures quiet, high-speed autofocus (AF) as well as full manual focus. This lens has a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, which creates an attractive blur effect in out-of-focus areas.
Macro medium telephoto lens long aperture
This medium macro telephoto, allows you to maintain an appropriate distance from the subject, while you can take photos as if you were really close to the subject in focus. Because the working distance at its closest position is 142mm, shadows from the lens and the camera will not affect the picture, making it suitable for taking pictures of objects such as flowers under natural lighting conditions. Compared to Sigma 50mm and 70mm macro lenses, subjects can be defined against perfectly soft and blurred backgrounds.
High rendering performance
The power arrangement of the lens produces excellent optical performance. A glass of high refractive index SLD (Special Low Dispersion) corrects chromatic aberrations, spherical and field curvature. Ensures high rendering performance at all distances. The multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting while maintaining the quality of high-contrast images.
Simple hand photography
The Sigma OS (Optical Stabiliser) optical stabilization system offers a correction of approximately 4 stops. Since the stabilization effect is visible through the viewfinder, it helps with precise focus and image composition.
* The effectiveness of the OS system will gradually decrease as pictures are taken at shorter distances.
Internal floating focus
This lens incorporates an internal floating focus that moves two groups of the lens separately. This minimizes the aberrations that occur while taking pictures as the distance changes, and allows a stable representation of the image from infinity at a magnification ratio of 1: 1. This also corrects for distortions in the image, especially when taking close-up photos. Because the focus does not change over its overall length, this lens is easy to hold and use.
Quiet, high-speed autofocus (AF)
The HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) motor provides quiet, high-speed autofocus. Fully manual focus is also possible, even if the lens is set to the autofocus position.
Rounded 9-blade diaphragm
This lens has a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, which creates an attractive blur around the subject in focus. This creates a soft, rounded blur that stands out when taking photos where there is a strong light source in the background, such as sparkling lights or the surface of water.
This lens is compatible with Sigma APO adapters. With an APO 1.4x EX DG adapter, 147mm F4 AF * macro telephoto lens, and APO 2x EX DG as 210mm F5.6 MF macro telephoto lens can be used. This allows for a longer working distance while achieving 1: 1 macro magnification.
* AF (autofocus) does not work in close-up photography from 0.45m.
Dedicated sunshade adapter
When taking pictures with digital APS-C SLRs, the dedicated lens hood adapter (included), which extends the length, can be attached. This provides more protection to the lens, preventing harmful lights from negatively affecting image quality.
* When taking photos with a maximum digital SLR size, please remove the HA680-01 to avoid blocking the edges of the images.
