Incluye dos elementos AA (asférica avanzada), uno Super ED (dispersión ultrabaja) y uno ED para reducir la distorsión y aberración. La apertura circular y la distorsión esférica mejoran la calidad de bokeh, y el enfoque mínimo de 0,24 m permite lograr grandes primeros planos.

Además del zoom electrónico versátil y fluido, este objetivo compacto minimiza los cambios del ángulo de visión que pueden producirse al enfocar o hacer zoom para grabar con facilidad metraje de vídeo estable de alta calidad. El funcionamiento del enfoque, el zoom y la apertura también son muy silenciosos, con mucho menos ruido y vibración que interfieren en la grabación de vídeos.
Zoom electrónico fluido con respuesta rápida
El primer sistema de zoom electrónico con 4 motores lineales XD en un objetivo α ofrece un control fluido con zoom manual inmediato. La sutil rotación de la anilla de zoom se detecta con precisión y se aplica al instante al zoom. La palanca de zoom de velocidad variable facilita un zoom superlento a velocidad constante y se puede controlar a distancia cuando la cámara está montada en un cardán.
Los motores lineales XD ofrecen un AF increíble
Los dos motores lineales XD ofrecen un enfoque automático rápido, silencioso y con poca vibración a la vez que respetan el tamaño del objetivo. El fiable AF puede seguir a sujetos con fluidez al grabar vídeos con alta frecuencia de imagen. Con un cuerpo compatible, puede mantener un enfoque preciso al capturar imágenes a 30 fotogramas por segundo. Sigue a los sujetos con fluidez al hacer zoom.
Muy ligero y repleto de funciones
Aunque este objetivo zoom gran angular solo pesa 353 g, no renuncia a la funcionalidad ni al rendimiento. La longitud focal es constante al enfocar o hacer zoom para mejorar el equilibrio y el manejo, por lo que también es ideal para la captura de vídeos con cardán. Gracias a su gran portabilidad y su diseño resistente al polvo y la humedad, es ideal para cualquier sujeto o situación.
