Nikon Coolpix P950
Cover it all
Birds flying high. Aerobatics that fill the frame. The COOLPIX P950 bridge camera packs an incredible 83x optical zoom (2000mm equivalent) in a robust body. Whether you're at an air show or on safari, this superzoom gives you the ability to zoom in for photos and 4K videos that stand out.
With its 24–2000mm focal length range, this COOLPIX superzoom takes you to the heart of every scene. Look beyond to show the intensity of a thunderstorm over the ocean. Zoom in to capture razor-sharp, focused images of distant wildlife. 166x Dynamic Fine Zoom digitally extends the maximum zoom limit up to 4000mm.
Thanks to the back-illuminated CMOS sensor and the bright NIKKOR lens with a maximum aperture of f / 2.8, you can get great results from dawn to dusk. Nikon's EXPEED image processing engine and super ED glass reduce distortion when using a powerful zoom. Whether you are zooming in on a plane as it rotates or filming shy wildlife, you'll be prepared for every opportunity.
A window to the world
Large 1 cm (0.39 in), 2 359 k-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides a clear view. An eye movement sensor automatically switches from shooting mode through the display to shooting mode through the viewfinder when you bring the camera close to your face.
Explore every angle
Compose amazing shots with the bright 8.1 cm (3.2 in.) 921 k-dot LCD screen, which can be tilted and rotated in virtually all directions. It is very easy to frame images when the camera is held high or low.
RAW image capture
Edit with high-quality files. The COOLPIX P950 supports RAW (NRW) image capture and allows you to save and export uncompressed image files in your desired editing / processing program.
Excitement 4K Superzoom Videos
Easily record 4K / UHD stereo footage at 30p, or record full-definition video (Full HD, 1080p) at frame rates up to 60p. The clean HDMI output allows you to output your videos to an external display during your recording. The built-in microphone jack allows you to use an external microphone for better sound. Manual video mode lets you adjust basic exposure settings while shooting - ideal for changes in light.
Star trails and skies at sunrise
The camera's built-in time-lapse function is perfect for displaying jagged landscapes, star trails, or plants opening out of a forest clearing. You can record magical time-lapse movies of approximately 10 seconds in length, which are played back at 25 fps or 30 fps. Scene modes automatically set the most suitable shooting interval for the subject.²
Stability at all times
Get steady photos and video footage even when shooting handheld at super telephoto distances or in low light conditions. Nikon's dual-detection optical Vibration Reduction (VR) function allows you to shoot with a shutter speed up to five stops slower than would otherwise be possible. ³ Active Vibration Reduction mode provides a more stable image in viewfinder and screen, which is ideal when you're on the go.
